Project Partners

The VIGIMARE consortium is made up of 19 partners from 8 European countries. It unites the necessary multidisciplinary knowledge, expertise, skills, and resources to constitute a complete value chain of actors that together can achieve the project’s objectives. It is led by an experienced coordinator Laurea, with a tenured reputation for excellence in project coordination, management, dissemination as well as in delivery and development of advanced solutions for security entities. There are 8 leading research institutions with complementary expertise, 5 innovative technological providers of solutions and services and 5 CIOs (end users) with the necessary knowledge of their respective CI sector.

MTU
Munster Technological University

is one of Ireland's leading HEIs in engineering and science education, and is participating in VIGIMARE through the National Maritime College of Ireland (NMCI), which is a joint venture between MTU and the Irish Naval Service. The Halpin Research Centre is the research unit of the NMCI, with a portfolio of over 40 international projects with total project value over €125m. Notable previous projects include EUCISE, AI-ARC and ARCSAR. Active research areas include: maritime safety & security; maritime circular economy; sustainability for maritime transport; innovative education and training for maritime careers; human factors in Offshore Renewable Energy; robotics and autonomous systems. Halpin's research projects have resulted in MTU ranking among the top ten in funding awarded to European HEIs for border security research using AI.

The company is responsible for natural gas transmission, operates major gas pipelines in Poland and the Baltic Pipe undersea gas pipeline, and controls the President Lech Kaczyński LNG Terminal in Świnoujście. As part of the 2015-2025 investment programme, GAZ-SYSTEM is developing over 2000 km of new gas pipelines in western, southern and eastern parts of Poland. Interconnections with Lithuania and Slovakia have been completed, as well as the design of onshore gas pipelines that will connect the planned FSRU floating terminal in the Gdansk Bay to the national transmission system.
